Q1 Why did writing of regional historiography received a momentum ? 

Ans 1) Nationalistic Historiography, which includes the wordings of Indian historians trained in the British educational system, tried to restore the pride in the ancient glory of India self-esteem of Indian readers.
2) It also helped in triggering the independence movement of the Indian people against the British.
3) In this aspect Vinayak Damodar Savarkar wrote the book, The Indian War of Independence.
4) Also, Vishnushastri Chiplunkar, who criticised the prejudiced history of ancient
India written by British officers, inspired the nationalistic writings of Maharashtra.
5) Thus, nationalistic historiography provided a momentum to the writing of regional histories, which drew the attention of historians to the geographic conditions and history of South Indian regions.


Q2 Why is Bakhar an important type of historical document ?

Ans 1) Bakhar is an important type of historical document of medieval times. It contains eulogies of the heroes as well as stories of historic events, battles and lives of great men.
2) Marathi bakhars are of various types- Sabhasad bhakar was written by Krishnaji Anant Sabhasad during the region reign of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
3) Bhausahebanchi Bakhar describes the battle of Panipat. Another Bakhar named  Panipatachi Bakhar is also about the same event. Holkaranchi bakhar provides information about the Holkars and their contributions to the Maratha rule.
4) Bakhars can be divided into various types as biographies of kings, dynastic history, descriptions of events, history of a sect, autobiographies, regarding grievances, based on mythalogies and state administrations by a king.

Q3 Which things are included on the descriptions by Emperor Babur in his Autobiography ? 

Ans  1) Babur, the founder of Mughal empire wrote an autobiography, entitled 'Tuzuk-i-Babari'. 
2) It contains the descriptions of the battle fought by him. 
3) Babur also recorded his minute observations of various regions and travelled by him including the local economy, customs and the flora.


Q4  What is the contribution of Swatantryaveer Savarkar to Nationalistic Historiography? 

Ans 1) The nationalistic historiography helped in triggering of the independence movement of the Indian people against the British.
2) In this aspect the book, 'The Indian war of Independence, 1857' written by vinayak Damodar Savarkar is of great importance. 
3) The nationalistic historiography provided a momentum to the writing of regional histories too.
4) As a result the attention of historians was drawn to the geographic conditions and history of Indian regions.
