FIELD VISIT
Q1 What precautions will you take continuously during the visit ?
Ans 1} It is very important to ensure the safety of ourselves and others during a field visit and carry an I.D. card, first aid box, etc. in case of emergencies.
2} Obey instructions given by the teachers.
3} Don't go to unknown or remote places alone.
4} Don't harm the environment in any way or litter the are during the visit.
Q2 Suppose teacher ask you to plan field visit how will you plan the details of the trip ?
Ans 1} I will select an appropriate place for the visit, decide the time of the visit, it's duration, means of transportation, etc.
2} Collect and obtain important documents such as map of field visit, important permission letters, etc.
3} Make travel arrangements, estimate the total expenses and prepare questionnaire.
4} Inform those who are participating in the field visit about the place and time of departure and important things to carry.
Q3 How will you manage the litter during the field visit ?
Ans - During the field visit we can manage the litter in the following ways :-
1} Avoid the use of plastic bags, use cloth bags.
2} Segregate the wet and dry waste, use the dustbins for throwing the waste.
3} Carry huge garbage bags to collect the garbage in absence of dustbins.
4} While traveling don't throw the litter out of the vehicle.
5} Inform and request the officials of local corporations to take immediate remedial actions against litter dump on the field.
Q4 Outline the importance of field visit.
Ans 1} Field visits give students an opportunity to get an first hand information. It is a practical method of studying geography.
2} Various geographical features can be directly experienced through field visits. Students can also collect samples from from the area to understand subject better.
3} It helps to understand the man - environment relationship.
4} Students develop the skill of observation and reasoning.
5} They get an opportunity to interact with people and develop a feeling of belonging to these regions.
